“Exuberant at times and starkly confessional at others, Eli August & the Abandoned Buildings’ first full-band album is equal parts American folk rhythms, orchestral textures, and boot-stomping release. To the Weak and the Weary delivers a familiar message of hope in times of trouble with 11 melodic and richly arranged tracks.”
